Our Drug-Free Workplace Initiative

CIC provides the services and programs needed to maintain a drug-free workplace. CIC Screening supports both Department of Transportation (DOT) and non-DOT regulated programs. We offer urine, hair, blood, or saliva testing for the presence of alcohol or prohibited substances. CIC can also consult with you to help ensure the programs needed for safety-sensitive positions are in place to meet criteria needed.

Urinalysis

Urinalysis involves testing a donor’s urine sample for prohibited substances. A test panel specifies the substances to be tested. Common employment drug test panels include: 5-Panel Urinalysis: Tests for amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and marijuana. 10-Panel Urinalysis: Includes the five-panel substances plus barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, propoxyphene, and methaqualone.

Hair Testing

CIC’s hair testing is the most effective method for detecting long-term drug use, offering a 90-day detection period through a two-tiered process where positive results are re-checked and confirmed. Negative results are typically reported within 24-48 hours of receiving the specimen. Hair testing is ideal for global drug screening policies due to its cost-effective shipping and ease of deployment for on-site collections. 5-Panel Hair Test: Tests for amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and marijuana.

Oral Fluid Lab Based Testing

Oral fluid testing is ideal for detecting recent drug use, unlike urine and hair tests, which require more time. It's easy to administer on-site and difficult to tamper with. 6-Panel Oral Fluid Test: Detects amphetamines, methamphetamine, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and marijuana. 9-Panel Oral Fluid Test: Adds benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, and propoxyphene. Instant Saliva Alcohol Test – QED: A cost-effective, DOT-approved alternative to breath or blood testing for post-accident or just-cause scenarios. Overnight lab shipping is available with the 9-panel kit.

Breath Alcohol

Breath alcohol testing is available at LabCorp or Quest locations. The initial or confirmation screenings use Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) devices, which are NHTSA-approved and conform to 49 CFR Part 40 standards
